Building Content Operations During Change
Sustained a lean content function while remediating legacy content, strengthening SEO workflows, and reducing manual update work.
I joined Publishing.com in October 2024 during a period of significant organizational change. Content responsibilities shifted quickly, creating a need to keep work moving while improving the quality, compliance, and long-term sustainability of an existing content library.
The work required practical structure: clearer workflows, stronger SEO processes, consistent disclosure remediation, and support connecting content, search, and audience engagement.
MY ROLE
My role extended beyond writing and editing. I contributed to SEO-focused content updates, internal-link improvements, disclosure remediation, workflow support, and practical SEO knowledge sharing.
I also supported content and community engagement work by helping to build more repeatable processes for identifying relevant Reddit conversations and coordinating an Ask Me Anything workflow through Sprout Social.
WHAT I DID
• Remediated and refreshed more than 200 legacy articles for disclosure accuracy and content quality while preserving their search value.
• Improved on-page content structure using SurferSEO, internal-linking updates, and content-refresh workflows.
• Helped strengthen content-maintenance processes across a large existing library.
• Built a workflow to surface relevant Reddit conversations for appropriate brand engagement.
• Supported a newly transitioned social-media specialist with practical SEO, content, and community-engagement guidance.
• Used AI-assisted processes in Asana and Trello to reduce repetitive manual update work and make content maintenance more manageable.
RESULTS
200+ legacy articles remediated for disclosure compliance while preserving search performance.
40% less manual update time through AI-assisted content workflows.
100% of remediated articles met the project’s disclosure requirements.
WHAT THIS WORK DEMONSTRATES
This experience showed how I operate when conditions change. I identify the work that needs structure, protect quality and search performance during large-scale updates, help teammates grow into unfamiliar responsibilities, and build practical workflows that make content easier to maintain.
It also reinforced my approach to high-trust content: responsible disclosures, clear processes, accessible information, and quality controls should be part of the content system—not an afterthought.
